July 20TH, 5 PM Meet Up Point , 7 PM walking the Parade. Open to all. Free feel to participate in Seattle's 2nd annual cosplay parade! We'll be participating at Chinatown's Summerfest Parade. A great way to show your creations and hardwork to a broader and wider audience! We'll be promoting Sakura Con by participating in this parade. -No Full body/masked costumes. (ie, moogle suits, pikachu suits, etc) -Family Friendly. -If participation is high, we will group similar cosplayers into teams (ie, One Piece, Bleach, Final Fantasy, Naruto, Inu Yasha, etc) |

AUGUST 26 - 27, Tuesday - Wednesday at 6:30, 9pm SPIRITED AWAY (Hayao Miyazaki, 2001, 35mm, 124 min) SPIRITED AWAY, winner of a variety of international awards including an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, is Hayao Miyazaki's best-known work. Drawing heavily on Japanese cultural influences and fairy-tale motifs, as well as children's literature classics including "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wizard of Oz," this astonishing film tells the tale of a young girl, Chihiro, who is trapped with her parents in a strange world of spirits. Chihiro must summon all her intelligence, strength, courage and compassion to break the spell and return to the world of humans. Sakura-Con's July 2009 General Meeting will be held July 20th, at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. The agenda includes department reports, staff openings, and any new business. |

Sakura-Con 2009's first musical Guests of Honor are Smile.dk. The band is well-known around the world and especially beloved amongst fans for "Butterfly" and "Golden Sky" in Dance Dance Revolution. Sakura-Con is pleased to host their west coast debut and their second North American appearance ever. |
